Good article, but a little short. Plus, need some new screenshots showing the blood that they've added. I think this one will be as much of a system seller as Resistance: Fall of Man, they just need to put out more info on it. I hope TGS will be the time for that.

I know there's a lot more involved in it than Ghz, I was just answering the question since Sphinx mentioned "3.2? That's not bad, right? I think my computer goes fater though..." I was just responding that 3.2 is very fast when you consider it's a Power PC core, and 8 SPE's (7 are functional). The new Core 2 Duo chips are great by the way, I was just mentioning the Ghz thing because that's what Sphinx mentioned. But yeah, multicore is the way of the future. Clock speeds are so l...

Yep, you'll see me online at launch if I can get my hands on a console. Once everyone gets their usernames we'll have to post them somehow in one thread.

This game looks incredible. Nice to see Unreal Engine being used in a racer, anything besides an FPS. It looks really good, but I honestly think it may be a rental for me, it depends on how fun the demo of it is. It may be one of those games that would be fun to play against friends at parties and whatnot.

Agreed. Gears of War looks great, but this game looks like a system seller. Everytime I read something about this game, it sounds better and better. Plus, their track record of making original and triple-A title is stellar. Can't wait to pick this one up at launch. I wonder if they'll have this at the demo pods prior to launch?.. It may be too violent to show in your average Wal-mart or Best Buy.

It's new if you consider that it's not a significant upgrade from the Gamecube other than design and a new controller. If you're fine paying $250 for that, be my guest.

Nice, thanks for posting the full report. 3.2 is good news. I looked all through the report to see how much power it used, 100 watts, 200 watts, etc. but couldn't find it anywhere. Oh well. Confirmed at 3.2 Ghz is good news.

To put in scope, the new Core 2 Duo chips by Intel are between 1.6 Ghz and 2.4 I believe, they may go slightly higher, but at most they are 2.8.

I can't go to PS3land links here at work so I can't see the scans, but if it's true it's not surprising, but good nonetheless for putting rumors to rest.

I think it's also going to come down to graphics. When people see the Wii in stores with people flailing their arms everywhere (can't wait to watch this on Youtube!) playing it and see the graphics, it might not be as impressive as the 360 on a Samsung LCD or the PS3 on the Sony Bravia. Like it or not, graphics are what a lot of people see in a first impression and will have an effect in this generation. Everyone is so hyped on the Wii now, and I have the feeling that it could not be quite...

I guess she doesn't like Nintendo either for their Pink DS lites that they're coming out with. Honestly, the whole time I read the article, I was thinking, doesn't she have anything better to do? If she was that dependent on one company, then she was a fanboy, or girl in this case. And she mentions $80-100 games, I don't see where she's getting that from, Sony has said they'll be the same price from them. Activision (2nd largest 3rd party dev, I believe) has said they'll be $60. Other 3r...

Maybe it's the fact that they could have added the feature for next to nothing that bugs people. Of course most people have DVD players now, but some people may want to get rid of their DVD player to reduce clutter and just have a Wii that plays DVDs and games. I wonder if they're going to be enabling it through purchasing an accessory such as the Xbox had. In my opinion, that would be definitely going the MS way in making you pay for stuff that they should have included in the first place...

All 360 games go through MS servers? They must have changed things a lot since the Xbox online play.

My goal is to get one at launch, however, the only way that I'll be getting one at launch is if I can find one at a wholesale store like Costco or Sam's Club, or can get one online. Both of these I'm wanting to find one that I don't have to buy a bunch of games and accessories that I don't want, so I don't know what my chances are. If I could find a bundle with an extra wireless controller and that has a game or two that I'm actually wanting, that would be ok. Regardless, I'm going to be g...

How much more would this have cost to add the DVD funcionality.. seriously. It uses the same laser, we know that the processor could handle decompressing the DVD's. It's stupid things like this that make me not want to get a Wii. That and when I see comments from Gearbox saying that it's a supercharged Gamecube, it just reinforces my belief that you're basically paying $250 for a better looking console and a new controller.

Yes, thanks for the explanation, and thanks to whoever posted the link for this site.

That's stupid. I don't understand why they're just now getting their beta kits, why not at least delay it a few months to get the online components in there, or add the components later since all PS3s will come with harddrives. Big lame from me. The game looks sweet though.

Why should it be expensive, it's just a piece of wire with some connections on the end. I realize that what I just said is oversimplified, but really, who decides how much it should cost? It's a digital connection, as long as the digital connection is not broken, why would it matter how much you spent?

Lame. It's people like you that cause shortages. Thanks a lot.

No one in the US is taking pre-orders yet (that I have heard of anyway). If you or anyone else knows of a store or website in the US taking pre-orders, let me know. I've asked several people at the local games stores, no one is doing them yet, if at all. The local Game Crazy girl said that Sony is trying not to let any stores accept pre-orders. I was trying not to laugh when she said this because I could tell by the way she said it that she didn't like Sony, but who knows, it may be true....

If it was Halo 3 being priced at $70 or more, most people on here would buy it regardless of the cost. Sony fans aren't the only fans that enjoy games on their system. MS and Nintendo have fans too, you know. I for one could care less about Final Fantasy.

Nice to see that this rumor of Blu-ray games being priced higher than DVD-9 games has been squashed.

theMART- When he says roughly $60, he's probably referring to $59.99, I really don't see how they'd charge $70 wh...
